Ida detailed everything from garage forecourts, custom designed petrol pump dispensers, signs and canopies to the Vivo shop details. Practicality, value for money and strength of identity were all equally important. The key elements: checkouts, shelving and retail displays, deli counters and interior finishes and lighting were designed in such a way that they could be applied to flagship branches and small town locations with equal success.

The Laughter Lounge is a full on theatrical experience. The Shopfront is swagged in purple velvet curtains trimmed in silver tassles and crystals to match the colossal cut glass door handles. Chandelier shades with matching trim hang above the long bar with its deep buttoned distressed leather front and circular seating booths are surrounded with silk string screens and decorative wallpapers, all gently washed with coloured uplighting. The stage itself is pure retro classic, with graphic backdrop, micstand and theatre lights on exposed scaffold.

This is bowling, as it should be today. Plasma screen walls and LED lighting combine with a full on sound system and “Nightglow” bowling to make this Hi-Tech entertainment at its best. An incredible curved stepped ceiling rises to 40 feet and is washed with colour change lighting above the lanes. Elsewhere the welcome and rental desk and bars and amusement machines are detailed to the same high standard with internally illuminated fascias and Corian surfaces.

The Classic Furniture showroom proves that warehouse retailing doesn’t have to feel like warehouse retailing! The entrance combines a glass shopfront and suspended glass canopy with stone surround and the quality finishes continue throughout the interior.
A beautiful curved steel staircase sweeps customers to the first floor past a stone-faced waterfall. Dividing partitions are punctuated with sandblasted glass screens or twisted willow displays and unique hanging digitally printed screens create flexible exhibition spaces to display the furniture sets.

Battisti is a boutique hairdressing salon located in a 1st floor Georgian terrace on Belfast’s Lisburn Rd. The stylists work around a granite island styling table with hanging double-sided mirrors so clients don’t have to stare at the walls! Pale interesting finishes give the interior a feeling of spaciousness and a duck egg and soft white paint scheme with limestone and ash flooring combine to create a crisp fresh space.

The Windsor combines bakery, patisserie and café to great effect. The elegant curved glazed patisserie counter is linked to the coffee stations and food servery and with the whole space surrounded by open oak shelves packed with fresh bread there is always a great buzz on the ground floor. The mezzanine level and open staircase creates a slightly more tranquil area for full table meals that still maintains a connection with the buzz below.

This self-service restaurant is full of soft flowing curves, and open airy spaces. A glass balcony allows light and views from the mezzanine lounge to the ground floor café. Quality materials give a timeless design that will have real longevity. The palette is lifted by the use of iridescent mosaic tiling, feature light fittings, chrome detailing and contemporary furniture.

Zest lives up to its name. The interior is fresh and zingy, crisp and modern. This is a simple design, that relies on quirky artwork, furniture and finishes to create a “lift”. Counter fronts are lined in colour washed striped ash veneer, echoed with bold striped upholstery on the banquette seating, with laminate and chrome edged tables keeping the palette fresh. Display cabinets are neatly recessed into structure to give an orderly appearance to the food service.
